Motor Voltage 115/230VThere are some woodworking projects that only a good band saw can handle properly. The Jet 710115K, with it's powerful 1-1/4 horsepower motor and Micro Adjustable blade Guides, is one of those saws that makes short work of the hardest of woods up to 6 inches thick. The first thing you will notice is the quality of the heavy cast iron and steel construction of this saw and the 15- by 15-inch table provides a large working base. When it's time to change blades the Quick Release Blade Tension Handle takes less time to use than changing a circular saw blade. You will also enjoy the quiet operation of the Poly V-Belt Drive and the Nine Spoke cast wheel, which keeps the blade turning so smoothly there is no noticeable vibration and very little heat build-up. Jet took a really nice band saw and, with a few improvements, made it fantastic. First off, it's got 25 percent more power than before, at 1-1/4 horsepower, and that alone makes a big difference, especially when resawing oak - it practically cuts itself without any bogging or hesitating. The motor's totally enclosed and fan-cooled for a trouble-free, long life.

Customer Review: Should have bought it sooner

I have had a Delta for many years but when Delta quit supporting the saw with repair parts I bought the Jet. Set up was super easy but you better have help lifting the saw onto the stand -it is heavy. A few minor adjustments for tensioning the balde and adjusting the guides and it was ready to make saw dust.
The only problem was a broken catch on the top door and a dent in that door caused by the broken catch. A call to Jet had both parts delivered by UPS in 2 days. This saw is very quiet and very accurate, dust collection is good if you use a quality collector - mine is a 1HP from Penn State. Attempted to use my shop vac -5HP- but it didn't perform well. Good quality blades are a must; I use Olsen All Pro, using a less expensive blade will cause you to replace them more often. If you need a saw this is the one to get.
