Industrial-Style Hand Wheels for Smooth Adjustments
The JJ-6CSX boasts a unique design that allows you to adjust both of the feed tables simply by rotating industrial-style hand wheels that turn smoothly and easily. This feature allows for easier tapers and enhances user control when taking precise, fine measurements as low as 1/64 of an inch.

Smooth Gliding Fence Offers Multiple Stops
Additionally, the fence glides smoothly throughout its complete range of motion and tilts both ways with the traditional stops at 45 and 90 degrees to handle bevel operations. This also allows you to quickly reproduce multiple cuts at any angle.

Steel Knife Cutter Head for Speed; Cast-Iron Table for Accuracy
One of the most innovative aspects of the JJ-6CSX's design is the triple-bladed, high-speed steel knife cutter head, which delivers rapid cutting and a superior finish for high-quality results. The blades are part of an exclusive auto-set quick-change knife system, which allows you to replace or change all three blades in a fraction of the time other machines take.

The jointer also features a cast-iron table with a precision-machined finish, so you can count on the accuracy of each pass.

Powerful 1 HP Motor and Rabbeting Ledge for Versatility
Equipped with a powerful 1 HP motor, the JJ-6CSX easily handles a wide range of jobs. A built-in rabbeting ledge also lends versatility, while a heavy-duty, one-piece steel closed stand includes mounting tabs for increased stability, so you can easily handle different wood types and sizes.

User-Friendly Controls and Features
Designed to be extremely user-friendly, the JJ-6CSX features industrial push-button controls conveniently placed throughout for easy access. In addition, the center fence controls are conveniently mounted to allow quick adjustments, and a built-in dust chute with four-inch port quickly connects to your collection system for efficient dust and chip disposal.

The JJ-6CSX weighs 215 pounds and comes with a five-year warranty.

About JET: A History of Sharing New, Feature-Rich Products
Opened in 1958 after the founder of the company, Leslie P. Sussman, took the first Boeing Jet Airplane trip from Seattle, Washington to Japan, JET began as a small dealer that sold air hoists and trolleys out of a single hardware store in Seattle. Over the years, JET has carried everything from snowmobiles, transmitter radios, and forklifts to nylon stockings, but by the early 1970s, metalworking had become the base of their business line. And by the 1980s, JET had expanded into the realm of woodworking. Today, you'll find that JET offers a wide range of popular woodworking tools that are backed with best-in-class features and excellent service.

Customer Review: Great Jointer for a Small Shop
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had this jointer for more than five years now. It's a fantastic tool--my favorite in the shop.

Setup was a breeze--this was the first power tool I've had to set up on my own. Other than a little help from my wife to lift the jointer onto the closed base, I was able to assemble and tune the Jet by myself in less than an hour. The tuning was just about effortless, as everything was tuned within spec right out of the box. I refined a couple of things (blade adjustment and outfeed table-to-blade alignment), but those were the only adjustments, and wouldn't strictly have been necessary.

The Jet is very quiet compared with other jointers I've used--in fact, when my dust collector is running you can't tell the jointer is even switched on.

The Jet has plenty of power to cut thru just about anything. I regularly take up to 1/16" off of 3/4 to 3" stock in both hard and softwoods, and the jointer plows thru this all without breaking a sweat. I have used it to take off as much as 3/16" (not that I would recommend this with any jointer). I've done a little planing of hardwood and softwood boards up to 5 1/2" wide. The Jet does a great job of planing, but (as with any jointer, I would expect) you must feed properly to ensure you take off the same amount across the face of the board. I generally prefer a thickness planer for this task. I have not used it for rabbeting.

The front-mounted handwheels are blindingly simple to use, and very smooth. I much prefer them to the Delta 37-190's lever-adjust system as it's easier to make fine-increment changes. The only gripe I have about adjusting the tables is the 1/8" safety lockout mounted at the back of the jointer. You must loosen two knobs, then pull the lockout while you turn the handwheel if you expect to take more than 1/8" in a pass, or make rabbets. This isn't a problem, per se, but you must be careful not to accidentally force the handwheel when the lock kicks in or you'll damage the table mechanism.

The fence is very easy to use. It slides manually, but it moves very smoothly on machined surfaces, making it simple to adjust the width of the exposed blade. The angle is also simple to adjust. Occasionally the fence grab lever/knob will catch your knuckles while jointing pieces that are around 6" wide (especially when beveling), so I remove and reinstall the lever as necessary. The fence has stops for 45 degrees and 90 degrees, so making bevels is a simple setup. The 45 degree stop can be pivoted out of the way for making bevels of less than 45 degrees. The fence tilt mechanism is well-built with heavy cast-iron and sheet steel parts. All knobs and levers are heavy-duty and provide plenty of leverage for snug lock-downs.

Dust collection has been very effective. I discarded the 4" plastic dust port that came with the unit and installed a shop-made 6" port over the 6"x6" dust chute. Now chips never accumulate in the stand or on the tables and dust is virtually eliminated as well.

I've had the knives sharpened three times now. The jackscrew blade adjusters are great--easy to get a fine tolerance. Removing and replacing the knives is a no-brainer.

In five years of moderate use, I've not had to do any tuning other then adjusting blade height to compensate for sharpening. This is a very well-made and well-finished tool, and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
